Canada PR — Express Entry, PNP & CRS Explained

Canada issues hundreds of thousands of permanent residence invitations every year through Express Entry and the Provincial Nominee Program. We help UAE-based professionals build a competitive CRS profile and manage the full journey from eligibility check to landing.

Canada PR — the numbers that matter right now

Main Pathway

Express Entry manages three federal programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Pass Mark

67 out of 100 on the FSWP grid to qualify for Express Entry — your CRS score then determines whether you actually get invited.

Current CRS Cut-Offs

General draws are typically running 500–530+; category-based draws (healthcare, STEM, French-language) have recently gone as low as the 370s–490s. Cut-offs move every draw — we track them for you.

Three Ways In

Pick the route that fits your profile

Express Entry

The main federal points-based system, covering skilled worker, skilled trades and Canadian-experience streams. Ranked by CRS score.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

A nomination from a Canadian province or territory adds 600 CRS points — effectively guaranteeing your next Express Entry invitation.

Category-Based Draws

Targeted rounds for healthcare, STEM, French-language and other priority occupations — often with meaningfully lower CRS cut-offs than general draws.

How Your CRS Score Is Built

Age, education, experience and language do the heavy lifting

Age, education, work experience and language ability make up your core CRS score (out of 500 without a spouse, 460 with one). On top of that, you can pick up major bonus points: +600 for a provincial nomination, plus smaller boosts for strong French ability, Canadian education, or a sibling already living in Canada. As of March 2025, IRCC removed CRS points for job offers entirely — most successful candidates today have no job offer at all.

How Canada PR Points Are Calculated

CRS — four factor groups

Core Human Capital Factors

Age (peaks late 20s to early 30s), level of education, official language ability (English/French), and Canadian work experience if any.

Spouse/Partner Factors

If applicable — their education, language ability and Canadian work experience add additional points.

Skill Transferability

Combinations of education + language ability, and foreign work experience + language ability — rewards strong credentials paired with strong English/French.

Additional Points

A Provincial Nomination (+600, effectively guarantees an invitation), a valid job offer, French proficiency, Canadian education, or a sibling in Canada.

Baseline eligibility before CRS is even calculated: a minimum 67 points on the separate Federal Skilled Worker six-factor grid (age, education, language, experience, arranged employment, adaptability) — French speakers gain meaningful extra leverage here alongside the CRS bonus.

Canada PR for Nurses — Stream 2

Nursing + CRNNL: One of the Fastest Routes for Nurses

BSc or GNM Nursing graduates with 3+ years of post-registration experience — including GCC/UAE experience — can pursue Canada PR alongside a CRNNL nursing licence (Newfoundland & Labrador) through our Stream 2 pathway, one of the fastest routes for internationally trained nurses because it pairs a real nursing licence with the PR application rather than relying on CRS score alone.
