Work as a Doctor in Australia — No-Exam Specialist Pathway

Specialist doctors holding an MBBS + MD / MS / DM / DrNB / DNB, DM, MCh, MS or MBBS with a specialist qualification and 5+ years of post-qualification experience can obtain AMC/AHPRA Medical Board licensing in Australia without sitting any exams. Apply from Dubai — your experience is your qualification.

Who Qualifies for Australia Specialist Doctor Licensing

Built for doctors who already have the experience

Specialist medical qualification — MBBS + MD / MS / DM / DrNB / DNB, or MBBS with a recognised specialist qualification in your field.

5+ years of post-qualification experience — active clinical practice in your specialty after completing your specialist degree.

Clean professional record — no unresolved disciplinary, licensing, or malpractice issues in your home country.

Willingness to practise in Australia — this pathway leads to AHPRA Medical Board registration for practice in Australia.

Why This Pathway

Specialist Pathway vs. the Standard AMC Route

Standard AMC Pathway (Most IMGs)

AMC CAT written exam + AMC Clinical Exam (OSCE), then 12 months supervised practice. Timeline: 18–30 months. Cost: approximately AUD 7,500–8,500 in exam and registration fees alone.

Specialist Pathway (This Page)

No AMC exams — your specialist qualification and experience are assessed directly by the relevant Australian specialist college (e.g. RACP, RACS). If deemed comparable, you move straight to supervised practice and specialist registration.

Specialists entering via this pathway typically start at registrar or consultant level, with entry salaries in the AUD 150,000–300,000 range — well above the standard pathway’s multi-year climb through internship and residency before reaching similar earnings. Private practice billing can add significantly more once established.

How It Works

From experience to Australian registration

01
Free eligibility check

From our Dubai office, we review your qualification, specialty, and years of experience against the exam-free pathway criteria.

02
Document preparation

Certificates, experience letters, and specialist credentials — collected and formatted for AMC submission.

03
AMC & college assessment

Your file is assessed by the Australian Medical Council and the relevant specialist college — no written or clinical exam.

04
AHPRA registration

Once assessed, we manage your AHPRA Medical Board registration through to approval.

EPIC Verification

EPIC verification for doctors — ECFMG primary source verification

EPIC (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates — Primary Source Verification) is a related but separate credential verification step. It’s more commonly required for USA licensing, and is handled case by case for Australia depending on your specialty and college requirements. 360Medicare manages document collection and submission for this too, if it applies to you.
